Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • ½ cup butter
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Slice the bread in half lengthwise (or into thick slices) and place on the baking sheet.
  3. In a bowl, mix butter, garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and parsley until smooth.
  4. Spread the garlic butter evenly over the bread.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella on top, then add cheddar and parmesan if using.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Broil for 1–2 minutes if desired for a golden top.
  8. Cool for 2 minutes, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Broil at the end for a golden, bubbly cheese top, but don’t walk away—it can burn fast.
  • Mozzarella gives the best cheese pull; cheddar and parmesan add extra flavor.
  • Use garlic powder if you don’t have fresh garlic.
  • Serve with pasta, tomato soup, salads, or marinara dipping sauce.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge up to 3 days and reheat in the oven or air fryer for best crispiness.
