Ingredients

  • 25 oz frozen cheese ravioli
  • 450 g ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 680 g marinara sauce
  • 425 g tomato sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Method

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook 1 lb ground beef or sausage until browned. Add minced garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, then drain excess grease.
  2. In a bowl, combine marinara sauce and tomato sauce, then mix in the cooked meat.
  3. Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of the crockpot.
  4. Add a layer of frozen ravioli (about one-third of the bag).
  5. Spoon about ⅓ cup ricotta cheese over the ravioli.
  6. Sprinkle about ⅔ cup mozzarella and 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese.
  7. Repeat layers two more times, finishing with the remaining cheese on top.
  8. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 hours or HIGH for 2.5 hours, until heated through and cheese is melted.
  9. Turn off heat and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use frozen ravioli directly; do not thaw.
  • Check early to avoid overcooking and mushy texture.
  • Substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms for extra vegetables.
  • Serve with garlic bread, salad, or roasted vegetables.
  • Serving size: about 1 generous cup per person
