Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 piece large egg
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese (or 20–25 g)
  • 1 teaspoon butter (5 g) or oil
  • teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. Heat a pan over medium heat and add butter.
  2. Place bread slice in the pan.
  3. Crack an egg onto the bread or into a small well in the center.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Add cheese on top.
  6. Cover with a lid and cook for 3–4 minutes until the egg is set and cheese melts.
  7. Remove, slice, and serve hot.
