Ingredients
  

  • 5–6 medium potatoes
  • 2 cups smoked sausage
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: green onions or parsley

Method
 

  1. Wash and dice the potatoes into bite-sized cubes and slice the smoked sausage.
  2. Boil the diced potatoes for 5–7 minutes until slightly tender.
  3. In a bowl, mix sour cream, milk, melted butter, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Combine potatoes, sausage, and the creamy mixture in a baking dish or skillet.
  5. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly and potatoes are golden.
  7. Garnish with green onions or parsley and serve.

Notes

  • Parboiling potatoes helps achieve a crispy outside and soft inside.
  • Freshly shredded cheese melts better than pre-packaged.
  • Use low-sodium ingredients or Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
  • Can add chicken, vegetables, or spice for variation.
